As a vegan, I’m constantly looking for new ways to make delicious meals that aren’t based around meat. Rarely am I ever able to find ready-made, quick meals that are meat-free and gluten-free. gardein ‘garden grown protein’ products taste good, are good for you, and are good for the planet. That makes gardein a win-win!

gardein has an incredibly large selection of meatless products. I had no idea so many different meat-like, but meatless, meals could taste so good. I’m especially impressed with the gluten-free varieties. Some products are complete meals while others can be appetizers or side dishes.

Gardein Meatless Meatballs - Simple Sojourns

We’ve tried, and I might add LOVED, the Classic Meatless Meatballs, Black Bean Burgers and Chick’n Sliders. The meatballs are great with pasta or alone with a tangy sauce for holiday parties, or anytime.

We shopped at our local market using the gardein $1.00 off coupon. You can get one too!

Gardein Chick'n Sliders - Simple Sojourns

I think one of the best things about the Chick’n Sliders is how convenient they are for after-school snacks. They’re quick, healthy and kid friendly. While I usually prepare them on the stovetop, they can also be prepared in the oven or microwave. A slice of tomato and/or avocado with a ruffled lettuce leaf makes the Chick’n Sliders even more complete.

Gardein Meatballs with Honey Garlic Sauce - Simple Sojourns

We wanted to put together a sweet and spicey sauce for the Classic Meatless Meatballs to make them a festive addition to any upcoming summer party or get-together. This Honey Garlic Sauce recipe is quick and easy. So easy that my 9-year old granddaughter made it (with a little help from me, of course!).

Ingredients:

1 bag gardein Classic Meatless Meatballs

3 large cloves of garlic minced.

3 tablespoons butter or oil

3/4 cup organic ketchup

1/2 cup honey

2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce

Directions:

1. Melt the butter (or oil) in a medium size saucepan. I like using a wide pan 3-4 inches tall.

2. Add garlic and cook until tender on a low heat constantly stirring to prevent burning.

3. Add the ketchup, honey and soy sauce slowly bring the mixture to a boil.

4. Simmer for 5 minutes stirring to prevent burning.

Voila! Add the meatballs to the sauce and serve as desired.

Enjoy!
